HUGE RALLY - Community's RAGE over EFM-Robert Bobb's plans for our DPS Children, schools, employees and parents of Detroit.

EPACMCS and the EPACMCS Web Partners would like to congratulate, as well as commend the concerned citizens of Detroit for a very successful March and Rally 4:00pm Tuesday March 23, 2010.

An estimated crowd of approximately 5000 individuals marched from the Detroit Federation Of Teachers Headquarters on John C. Lodge and West Grand Boulevard, and gathered at the Fisher Building located at Second Avenue and Grand Boulevard in the City Of Detroit.

The March and Rally was in protest to Emergency Financial Manager, Robert Bobb's closing of schools, lay-offs and dismantling, outsourcing of jobs; and attempted privatization of the Detroit Public School District.  The rally was also in protest to the replacing of the  Safeway Bus Company, along with its superior 35 year record; with an inferior bus company, First Student Transportation from the United Kingdom with a highly documented history of child sexual abuse and other child abuse, recklessness and serious violations by employees of this company.  There was mention made of Mayor Dave Bing's downsizing of the City in concert with Robert Bobb's actions.

Among more than 20 community organizations were members of the Local AFL-CIO, The Detroit Federation Of Teachers, some members of the local UAW, some members of the local AFSME Union, The Keep The Vote/No Take Over Coalition, BAMN, and Safeway Bus Drivers.

Among several other elected officials in attendance were Detroit School Board Members: Reverend David Murray, Lamar Lemmons, Anne Carter, Terry Catchings and Otis Mathis.

We wish to commend all who participated and let their voices be heard.

Don't allow outside and corporate interests to determine what is best for the citizens of Detroit or the education of our children here in Detroit!

As promised EPACMCS, has provided you with video footage of the March 23, 2010 Rally.
